Protecting the Beauty of The Great Smoky Mountains
We started Exotic Pet Wonderland in order to make a difference. Not only do we want to help the animals we bring in and provide a forever home for, but also for their wild cousins and their natural habitat. We’re are all huge nature lovers and strive to help the world around us in any way we can. In order to do this, we try to accomplish a few things when it comes to the world around us.
Our goal is to help people understand why our native plants and animals are important. The Great Smoky Mountains has a booming tourism industry, but we need to work together in order to respect preserve the beauty of our home. Every tiny plant and animal serves a very important purpose to keep our ecosystem happy. With with the world around us constantly changing and more and more new development popping up daily in Knox and Sevier County, our ecosystem needs us to step up and help.
With more development comes less trees which provide homes and food for native wildlife and clean air for us to breathe. We want to help by organizing tree planting events to add more beauty to our area along with helping our native animals by giving them more homes and food.
Exotic Pet Wonderland also wants to help with our community’s litter issue. With more people, comes more litter. Sadly throwing things out the window of a car, not using a waste can, or improperly securing your trash has become a very common sight. Not only is it ugly to look at, but it’s very harmful for our plants and native animals as well. Whether it’s helping others to learn the proper disposal methods of trash, or organizing a trash pick up day, we want to help as much as we can to change the way people see our beautiful land.
You can help us by donating to our beautification fund, volunteering to help with litter pick up days, and helping with our tree planting days. Also, we’re always happy to get recommendations on where we can do some clean up activities. If you see an area in the Knoxville or Sevierville area, or anywhere in between that is in desperate need of a clean up, please reach out to us and let us know.
